We are still waiting for confirmation on how the over sixty leagues will operate. We have two teams in the league. Within that the league will be split into 3 leagues to minimise travelling. Both Whitehead teams will play in the same league.

John Dayton welcoming Glyn Jones ,a long standing member of the Club, to open the green for the 2021 season. Glyn then delivered the first bowl.

Whiteheads Bowls Club is very sad to inform members that Derek Corten has passed away.  He was a well respected member of the Club and a regular first team player. He had also previously been a member of Newport Dockers Bowls Club. Our condolences go out to his Widow and his family. May he Rest in Peace.

A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIRMAN JOHN DAYTON (who has been working, mostly on his own, to keep the green in good order, we are all indebted to him at this difficult time)

Hi Everyone,
These are very trying times, there will be no bowling for some time, keeping safe is paramount.
I will keep maintaining the green if at all possible.
The main club, Whiteheads Sports and Social Club, cannot help at this time, as they will want to prioritise the main club, it will be difficult but not impossible.
I have already guaranteed our Bowls Maintenance their money for work carried out or work to be done that we feel must done (when restrictions are lifted) and the main Club gets back on its feet, it will re-imburse the the money.
At this time, I think we should all pay our Whiteheads membership of £9 per player.
It`s a good investment. Our Bowling club is asking you to pay 25% of our fees, which amounts £15 to help keep it going. I will let you know when and how we can can pay, when restrictions are lifted, There is a chance we could be playing in July or August (and why not in September?).
The main club has given me permission to do what it takes to keep the Bowls together, and when things get back to normal, we can all help to put the Club back together.
Make you all keep safe
You sincerely
John Dayton

Congratulations to Graham Hadden for a sterling victory in the singles final at the over-sixties rinks Matches at The Glebelands last August.

Our Chairman has re-negotiated the greens maintenance contract with much more reasonable terms, and we hope to have an improved surface this coming season. It appears that Shoo Shoo is rather worried that our Dictator Chairman is considering marching into Poland!!!!

The pre-season meeting scheduled for Thurs 19th March has been postponed due to the Corona Virus.
