The tour to Torquay has been cancelled due to the number dropping out and therefore making it not viable.

Funeral arrangements for our late Secretary Bryan Crafter .The Funeral will be at Langstone Crem.on Fridy 6th August at 11.30am. We do not yet know how many will be allowed to attend. We do  know that the Hearse will drive slowly past Whiteheads Club. There will be a reception in the Club after Funeral

Singles deadline for first round extended to 30th June-Please play your games.

Would all members in the singles competition please note that the first round should be played by 21st June. Only one game has been played.

GBL Games will now include Abergavenny Avenue as they decided to continue bowling this season.  Blaina GBL team have dropped out of the league for this year. They are hoping to return to the GBL next year.

We now know that the over 60 league will be split into  3 separate leagues.

This will minimise travelling on game days.

The leagues are Tiger,  Leopard and Panther  with 6 teams in each.

Whiteheads .have two teams in the Panther League namely the Falcons and the Swallows. .Meaning Whitehead teams will play each other home and away in the same league.

John Dayton welcoming Glyn Jones ,a long standing member of the Club, to open the green for the 2021 season. Glyn then delivered the first bowl.

 

Whiteheads Bowls Club is very sad to inform members that Derek Corten has passed away.  He was a well respected member of the Club and a regular first team player. He had also previously been a member of Newport Dockers Bowls Club. Our condolences go out to his Widow and his family. May he Rest in Peace
